Music Therapy

The use of music in my therapy and recovery had never been a formal part of my treatment until 2015. I have been a musician, performer, and music teacher since I was a kid, but I never fully realized or understood the link between music and the healing of my brain. In addition to playing music, I constantly listen to and process music. Recently, I have begun to study the scientific links between the mind, the physical brain, rhythm, tempo, and melody. Music therapy is a fascinating modality, and I encourage everyone in my life (with or without hydrocephalus) to explore the use of song in your daily life & meditation. It will soothe your soul and feed your mind. Music truly heals.

My Spotify account is a way that I am able to share the music that speaks to me, and many of my playlists are public. I also share a lot of what I am listening to on my Instagram account, as well as my blog.

Sometimes music can say what words alone can't express. Here is a song that perfectly explains how I feel, battling my hydrocephalus on a public stage. Again, and again, and again... I dare you to move, like today never happened.
